Ernst Toller was born in Germany, and studied in France and Germany. Toller was prominent in the German revolutionary government in 1918, and later was imprisoned for this activity. During his time in prison he wrote many plays. Toller fled to England in 1933 and continued writing. In 1936 he moved to the United States and wrote film scripts. Reynolds, Reginald, 1905-1958

Reginald Reynolds was a British Quaker, author, journalist, and field secretary for the Friends Service Committee. Reynolds was associated with Mohandas K. Gandhi during the Indian civil disobedience movement in the early 1930s. He founded or was associated with various movements which worked for India's freedom from British colonial rule, notably the Indian Freedom Campaign. He was a conscientious objector to World War II. Louis Untermeyer was a noted author, editor, and translator. His tastes were eclectic, and his friendships many; he produced more than one hundred books, and volumes of letters.
